Dr Rachel Denney
Dr. Denney spent her childhood climbing trees, playing sports and surrounding herself with all types of animals while growing up on Bainbridge Island, WA. She received a B.S. in Environmental Health at the University of Washington in 2009 and her degree in Veterinary Medicine this May from Washington State University. She is excited to have secured a mentorship under Dr Dennis Barros where her interest and skills can continue to grow and expand. Her medical interests include: preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry and behavioral medicine. She initially became interested in behavior out of necessity when working with her own behaviorally challenging dog. She recognize that for some pets and owners, a visit to the vet can be very stressful. Through her extensive behavioral medicine and fear free Certification training she has become committed to making your pets visit at Devotion Animal Hospital as fear and stress-free as possible. Dr Denney lives in beautiful Santa Rosa with her significant other, her two dogs Kuma and Blue and an extra-toed kitty named Mitzi. When she isn't caring for animals at Devotion you may run into her exploring the great outdoors of Northern California. She also loves to travel, rock climb, backpack, garden and volunteer at local animal shelters.
